When it comes down to finding funding to support your venture, project or even travel to conferences, finding opportunities might become troublesome.

Here is a list of 9 open grants, including scholarships for young individuals and youth projects that support projects on an international level. There are also fully-funded programs to support youth participation in international conferences.

1. UN-Habitat Youth Innovation Award for Youth-led Organisations in Developing Countries

Deadline: July 31, 2015

UN-Habitat and the International Ecological Safety Collaboration Organization (IESCO) supported by China Development Orient Urban Development and Investment Company Limited (“CDB-ORIENT”), a major private sector organization in China have jointly launched a biennial Youth Innovation Awards Programme to attract, support and inspire some of the most innovative, high-impact young innovators and entrepreneurs in a number of countries in Africa and Asia. The Award aims to recognize and celebrate young men and women throughout the world who have developed innovative programmes, practices, activities and solutions to the social, economic, political and environmental challenges facing human kind today.

Eligibility

  • The Award is open to all Young women and men between 15 and 32 years from developing countries .
  • Applicant’s organization must be a youth led for-profit and or nonprofit organization, or a business or entity that aims to improve youth livelihoods and better serve their communities with accomplishment in any of the above Award Categories.
  • Young women and men can also be nominated as individuals for the Award for their achievements.

2. Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Research Development Fund: Call for Applications

Deadline: August 31, 2015

he WUN Research Development Fund is inviting call for applications to faculty members of its partner institutions to encourage innovative, international collaborative research and mobility programs.

Countries with WUN member universities- Canada,  New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway, United Kingdom, South Africa, Hong Kong, Ghana, Netherlands, United States , Australia, China.

The WUN Research Development Fund offers grants of up to £15,000.

Eligibility

  • The RDF is open to only academic staff (faculty members) at WUN member universities.
  • Applications must first be approved for submission through an internal review process at the principal investigator’s university and submitted to WUN through the local WUN Coordinator
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide letters of support following notice of award
  • Applicants should submit their RDF application on the basis that they have secured the commitment of collaborating partners and this is expressed in a statement in the application form.
  • Only the CV of the Principal Investigator (one page maximum) should be attached to the application.

3. The Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit 2015

Deadline: October 5, 2015

Making Cents International is inviting youths for The Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit 2015  in order to provide a demand-driven Knowledge Management (KM) platform to build the capacity of positive youth development stakeholders worldwide to design, implement, and evaluate high-impact youth economic opportunity programs, policies, and partnerships.

The Summit will be organized from 6th October to 8th October 2015 at Arlington, United States.

Participants will be offered an interactive session on exposure to the theory and practice of human-centered design (HCD) and design thinking methodologies. They will get through exercises to expose the most critical unmet needs and behavioural patterns of unemployed youth, generate fresh ideas using lateral thinking methods, and conceptualize solutions that are innovative and market-viable.

4. IWC Scholarships for International Students to Study Integrated Water Management

The International WaterCentre (IWC) is currently accepting applications from students around the world for its Masters Scholarships to study Integrated Water Management. The scholarships are awarded annually to high calibre candidates who clearly demonstrate potential to become future water leaders. Scholarships are available to study the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management (MIWM).

5. Full Scholarship to Attend Master Programme in Cooperation and Development in Pavia, Italy

Deadline: June 30, 2015

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation-DG Cooperation and Development supports the 19th edition of the Master in Cooperation and Development Internship Programme in Pavia with 14 special scholarships from mentioned regions.  The objective of the action is to train local development professionals from those two geographical areas in order to strengthen their capacity to operate in an international dimension. Scholarships are addressed to professionals already working for local, national and international agencies, NGOs and other institutional bodies, public or private coming from the two below mentioned macro-geographical areas.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be national of one of the countries belonging to the two macro-geographical areas listed above.
  • Applicant must hold at least a 4-year university degree in any major subject.
  • Applicant must be fluent in English
  • Applicant must already have experience in the field of cooperation and development, preferably being already employed in NGOs, local, national and international agencies, public or private.
  • Priority will be given to applicants belonging to specific disadvantaged groups (e.g. lower income backgrounds, ethnic minorities, refugees, people with disabilities).

6. DAAD Postgraduate Scholarships for Professionals in Developing Countries

German Academic Exchange Service, Deutscher Akademisher Austausch Dienst (DAAD) is inviting applications for scholarship in Post graduate courses for professionals in developing countries at German Institutions of Higher Education. These degree courses, which consist of one to two years of concentrated study, provide young, academically-trained professionals in leading positions from developing countries with the opportunity to engage in postgraduate education and training in their particular field or profession.

Eligibility

  • Applicant working either for a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, is engaged in the planning and execution of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas.
  • Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in forestry science or other subjects relevant to the postgraduate course.
  • Applicant must have at least two years of experience in the field of forestry.
  • Academic degrees of the applicant should normally not be more than six years old.
  • Applicant must have a English certificate.

Exceptions

  • Applications from Cameroon and Nigeria must be submitted via German Embassy. Application deadline at German Embassy is 31 July 2015.
  • Applications sent via e-mail to the DAAD cannot be considered during the selection process.
  • Scholarships cannot be awarded without the official DAAD application form.

7. TVE Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change 2015

Are you between the ages of 18 and 30? Do you have any inspiring actions?

If yes then think about a project or campaign you are involved in to combat climate change, an action which convinced your parents, school or college to take climate action, a lobbying of your elected members of parliament or your city leaders. Whatever is making a difference, turn it into a snappy concise video and participate in this competition!

Video entries are invited from youths aged between 18 to 30 years for the Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change. The winning films will be promoted as part of World Food Day in October 2015 with added credits and logos of tve and its partners and funders; they may be screened on TV, used for publicity purposes or shown at other events. tve does not commit to using the films for any of the purposes listed.

Eligibility

  • This competition is open to any person of any age, in any country between the ages of 18 and 30 on 15 November 2015. The purpose of the competition is for people worldwide to submit a three-minute film about a climate change action they are involved in.
  • Videos can be made for creative inspirational stories about your action on climate change.

8. UNAOC Fellowship Programme 2015 for Middle East, Europe, North Africa & North America

The United Nations Alliance Of Civilizations (UNAOC) is now accepting applications from emerging leaders and young professionals from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America to participate in the 2015 edition of the Fellowship Programme.

The UNAOC Fellowship Programme aims at fostering intercultural exchange and interfaith understanding by engaging with emerging leaders and young professionals from across the world. The Programme is framed around a two-week exchange trip to Europe and North America and to the Middle East and North Africa between two groups of participants from both regions. The Fellowship offers its participants a first hand exposure to diversity and the opportunity to experience cultural immersion while interacting with a wide range of local actors and partners.

9. Youth Environmental Grants Program by Pollination Project and Levi Strauss & Company

The Pollination Project and Levi Strauss & Company has issued call for applications for its Youth Environmental Grants program. It is to offer seed grants and support to young people involved in a wide variety of environmental programs all over the world.

For the initial seed grants, applicants can apply for up to $1000. For second “impact” grants (which will be available to all grantees in good standing beginning in late Fall, 2015), applicants can apply for up to $5000.

Youth Environmental Grant-making program includes:

  • 20 seed grants of $1000 each made to youth who are involved in grassroots environmental projects
  • Second-round funding of up to $5000 per project offered in Fall 2015
  • Promotional support for certain projects
  • Capacity building and leadership development training offered through Youth Empowered Action Camp.
  • Special priority consideration for projects recommended by the New Leaders Initiative of the Earth Island Institute.

Eligibility Information

  • Individuals aged 22 or younger who are starting up or leading an environmental project anywhere in the world are eligible to apply.
  • Established organizations with paid staff are not eligible for funding.
