KPMG internships

A KPMG internship is a terrific way to learn business skills, find a mentor, build your network and get real-world (even global) experience before graduation. And it can often lead to a full-time job. Discover how an internship can connect you with the countless opportunities at KPMG.

What makes a great internship? Through a KPMG internship, you can…

  • Start training: No other Big Four firm offers a consistent national training experience for all audit, tax, and advisory interns.
  • Meet your mentor: Pair up with a mentor who can inspire and guide your internship—and your career.
  • Build a network: Start growing your professional network by interacting with KPMG senior professionals and employees worldwide.
  • Gain experience: By engaging with clients, you’ll become more knowledgeable and more marketable.
  • Explore career opportunities: Learn what it’s really like to be an audit, tax or advisory professional… and you may find yourself on the path to a full-time job offer.

Unrivaled training and mentoring

KPMG’s interns spend an exhilarating week of National Intern Training in Orlando, Florida. No other Big Four firm offers a consistent national training experience for all audit, tax, and advisory interns.

You’ll join your peers from around the country to enhance your leadership and communication skills and receive training specific to your chosen practice area. You’ll even receive a gift card to jump start your professional wardrobe.

As an intern, you’ll be paired with a KPMG mentor who is committed to you and your career. You’ll communicate regularly to address important questions, examine your goals, assess your progress and stretch your ideas about who you are and what you want to become.

Global internship program

Award‐winning Global Internship Program (GIP) gives top college students the opportunity to work abroad and see what it takes to be a global professional.

After starting your GIP internship at a KPMG office location in the US, you’ll spend four weeks on assignment with international teams on major client accounts, with a global support network there to guide you every step of the way.

KPMG clients and the capital markets are becoming more international every day. The GIP is a great first step for future accounting professionals.

Build your own internship

Build Your Own Internship Program (BYOIP) enables you to intern with KPMG in two practices chosen from audit, tax or advisory.

One practice provides your “core” experience; the other provides “developmental” experience in which you’ll work on a variety of client engagements. KPMG is the only one of the Big Four to offer a national split internship program.

Explore your options while being exposed to multiple practices early in your career. You’ll find great networking opportunities with employees, clients, and firm leadership, and you’ll have a performance manager and a mentor to guide you along the way.

Vacation programs

KPMG Vacation Programs are designed to help you find out more about the company and the different types of work it does to help clients thrive. If you participate, you’ll discover what it’s like to be part of a professional team as you explore different areas of the business.

It’s a great opportunity to develop new skills and enjoy new experiences – experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. So, as well as kick-starting your career, you’ll get to take part in some great community activities and you’ll get an opportunity to socialize too.

Above all, it’s about gaining experience on real-time, real-life projects. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills, enhance your CV, learn about the world of work and, most importantly, get your foot in the door of one of the leading professional services firms.

Who’s it for?

It’s for students who are in their penultimate year of university. Your degree subject isn’t important – what matters is that you’re as ambitious and as focused on the future as the company is. You’ll also be keen to take on a wide range of projects that will add value to the clients.

The internship lasts for four weeks and usually start around June/July.

What support will I get?

You’ll be given the support of a mentor and a senior manager to make you feel at home from day one. Your mentor’s role is to meet you on your first day and help you to settle in. They’ll also introduce you to your team and answer any questions you may have.
