Format: Online

Sent to you two weeks before the event, the online challenge, axed around strategic decision-making skills, allows the participants to experience a first taste of the Solvay Business Game.

Marketing Challenge

How: Teams of 6 randomly formed
Prepare: Yes / Briefing at the beginning of the case

Marketing is the core of an operating business and one needs more than theory when looking at marketing. Therefore, the aim of this challenge is to develop a complete marketing campaign. You’ll be expected to prepare a 10-minute presentation explaining how you will go about marketing your product.

Strategy Challenge

How: Teams of 6 randomly formed
Prepare: Yes / Briefing at beginning of case
Format: 3h preparation, slide deck to upload before presentation

Based on real facts and figures, this challenge will test your strategic decision-making skills. Using the information provided, you will be asked to develop a long-term strategy for a firm. In other words, can you develop a plan that will maximize the company’s competitive advantage?

Negotiation Challenge

How: Teams of 4 randomly formed
Prepare: Yes / Briefing at the beginning of the case
Format: 4h preparation, slide deck to upload before presentation

During the negotiation challenge, you will be asked to base yourself on real figures to determine the ideal price at which you are willing to sell, or buy, a company. Small specificity: you will be negotiating the terms of the deal with another team who, just like you, will want to get the best out of their efforts!

Pitch Challenge

How: Teams of 4 randomly formed
Prepare: Yes / Briefing at the beginning of the case
Format: 3h preparation, pitch material to prepare before presentation

Concerning the Pitch Challenge, you will all receive a document containing a question before the event. You will have to undertake the necessary research to be able to find the solution to the problem. During the SBG, you will be given 180 minutes to prepare your pitch with another pair. Ultimately, the goal is to present a concise and information-rich pitch to a panel of judges.

Eloquence Challenge

If you are among the best-scoring teams, you’ll be invited on stage to participate in the Eloquence challenge, the big final of the Solvay Business Game.
