EU Sustainable Energy Awards 2019

The EU Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewables.

Nominees and finalists are chosen from a shortlist of the year’s most successful projects for clean, secure and efficient energy.

With prizes awarded by an expert jury and European citizens, the Awards competition highlights new ways to shape Europe’s energy future.

Who should apply?

Anyone in the EU could submit a recent project – from a local initiative to an industry-wide programme – that could help citizens, industry and the public sector work towards the Energy Union. Hundreds of contenders submitted projects, from which twelve final nominees (finalists) and five winners were chosen.

There will be three assessment criteria, with a maximum score of ten points each. An activity can, therefore, receive a maximum total score of 30 points.
