Global Youth Video Competition 2019

Young people from around the world are encouraged to showcase their actions to combat climate change by submitting a video to the fifth edition of the Global Youth Video Competition.

In 2019, the Video Competition is jointly organized to broaden the scope of entries and mobilize the global youth along the lines of the Global Climate Action Summit called in September by the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres.

It is led by the Secretariats of the three environmental conventions, the United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD), and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), in partnership with the Global Environment Facility-United Nations Development Programme Small Grants Programme (UNDP/GEF SGP), Television for Environment (tve) and BNP Paribas Foundation.

Categories

This year’s Global Youth Video Competition is divided into 3 categories:

Each Convention is responsible for one of the three categories. One winner will be selected from each category.

Prizes

The final three winners will be invited to attend the UN Climate Change Conference in Santiago, Chile (COP 25).

Their videos will be presented in front of a global audience, and the winners will be afforded the opportunity to work with the UN Climate Change’s communications team covering highlights of COP25.
