Schwarzman Scholars Program 2018

Schwarzman Scholars is a highly selective, one-year master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing that is designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for the challenges of the future.

One-year master’s degree in global affairs

Drawing on the best traditions of Tsinghua and top academic institutions around the world, the curriculum bridges the academic and professional worlds to educate students about leadership and about China’s expanding role in the world.

All Schwarzman Scholars share a core curriculum that serves as an anchor for the rest of their studies and builds connections among them as a cohort.

Schwarzman Scholars will complete much of the core curriculum together early in the program, in the fall of their year in Beijing. Core courses include:

In addition to the core curriculum, students will pursue a set of concentration course. The concentration course offerings will fall into one of three broad fields, corresponding to Tsinghua’s schools and departments that have partnered with Schwarzman College to develop course offerings.

A call for future leaders

Interested candidates will participate in a rigorous and thorough selection process, designed to identify the most promising young leaders from around the world.

The process includes an online application and credentials evaluation as well as in-person regional interviews. Those selected will have demonstrated their potential to not only benefit from but also contribute to the Schwarzman Scholars program.

Each new cohort of Schwarzman Scholars will join a global network of the world’s most talented young leaders, helping to build stronger links between China and a rapidly changing world.

The Schwarzman Scholars experience is anchored in a rigorous and innovative Masters of Global Affairs degree program at Tsinghua University, one of the country’s leading universities.

Drawing on the best traditions of Tsinghua and top academic institutions around the world, the curriculum bridges the academic and professional worlds to educate students about leadership and about China’s expanding role in the world.
