BlockStart Blockchain Partnership Program 2020

BlockStart is helping blockchain/ DLT startups & SMEs to introduce their solutions to market, bringing impact at scale.

You’ll receive up to €20,000 to fine-tune your solution and implement commercial pilots with innovative SMEs (adopters). The focus: fintech, ICT, and retail.

Up to €20,000 equity free in cash, plus the opportunity to pilot in real life and with real users

BlockStart supports blockchain/ DLT startups & developers with big ideas and the passion to make them happen.

The agile piloting program will help you fine-tune, test and demo your solution with innovative SMEs (adopters) willing to approach blockchain & other DLTs.

Along the way, you will be provided with streamlined access to strategic partners, industry experts, top-tier customers and follow-on investors.

Are you the right ‘fit’?

(TLDR: not just blockchain companies) The accepted applicants for BlockStart Open Call #2 have to be innovators or technological startups/ SMEs developing a use-case for an end-user SME based on blockchain and other DLTs.

Is it something for you? Definitively if you can tick the following 3 boxes:

*When there is not a constituted SME, the applicants could be an individual or a group legally established in a H2020 eligible country, with a written commitment to set up a legal SME if selected to the “Ideation Kick-off” phase.

  1. registered as a company that complies with the Commission Recommendation for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) 2003/361/EC*;
  2. located in EU and H2020 associated countries;
  3. able to develop solutions to the following sectors: fintech, ICT and retail.

If you are a seed-, early-, growth-stage startups or SMEs, we encourage you to apply. The program focuses on blockchain and other DLTs.

You’ll be matched with end-user SMEs across fintech, ICT, retail. And that’s not all. You’ll have direct access to a hand-picked community of investors, subject matter experts, and founders.

BlockStart is fully supported by the European Commission. Hence, it does not charge fees, nor does it take any equity.

The mission is to discover and back Europe’s most talented blockchain/ DLT innovators, help them implement their solutions in real-world commercial pilots and attract follow-on investment.

A streamlined application process has been developed with limited paperwork, quick approval, and milestone-based funding.

Applying to BlockStart should be as fruitful and productive as participating.

BlockStart will launch three Open Calls. If you’re not accepted to this one, you may apply again in the next round.
