EuroSTAR Software Testing Conference 2016

Since 1993, the EuroSTAR Conference has been a place for passionate software testers to gather for learning, discussion, networking and socialising.

23 years later, the organisers prepare for EuroSTAR 2016 – the 24th instalment of Europe’s favourite software testing conference. If you love the craft of software testing and are passionate about evolving your profession and being part of that community then you really should be there with us in Stockholm.

Programme Chair for 2016 Shmuel Gershon and his Committee have chosen the theme of

Learning to Test, Testing to Learn

EuroSTAR Conference 2016 runs for four days and is made up of one full day of tutorials (Monday), half-day tutorials (Tuesday morning) and two and a half days of conference track sessions (Tuesday afternoon until Thursday), networking events, an interactive Test Lab and a thriving software testing exhibition and will be held in Stockholmsmässan Convention Centre, Stockholm.

Social Events at EuroSTAR Conference 2016

Conference Awards Night

The EuroSTAR Conference Awards form the centrepiece of conference celebrations and 2016 promises to be another fantastic occasion. As well as the 18th conferral of the EuroSTAR Software Testing Excellence Award, the night will include awards for Best Conference Paper and Best Tutorial as determined by conference attendees.

In 2016, the Conference Awards night takes place at Cafe Opera in Stockholm – a venue steeped in over 200 years of tradition. Festivities begin at 18.45 and buses will be provided to take conference attendees from Stockholmsmassan to Cafe Opera.
Places are limited for this event and tickets are offered on a first come, first serve basis – register early for the conference to avoid disappointment.

Community Dinner 2016

The Community Dinner at EuroSTAR has evolved from humble beginnings to become an integral part of the EuroSTAR Conference social calendar and 2016 in Stockholm promises to be another engaging event.

This year is slightly different as they’re hosting the Community Dinner on Wednesday night at Stockholmsmassan (traditionally held on Tuesday) – it promises to be another memorable occasion and a fantastic opportunity for attendees to renew acquaintances and forge new friendships in a relaxing atmosphere. Community Dinner attendees can expect a sit-down meal featuring some of Sweden’s signature dishes.

Spaces are limited for the Community Dinner and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

About the Community Dinner

EuroSTAR is proud to be a community-centric conference and aims to support initiatives aimed to bring software testers closer together. No more has this been in evidence than with the evolution of the Community Dinner.

The idea of the community dinner started in 2011 in Manchester when EuroSTAR regular and community advocate Peter Morgan suggested a gathering for newcomers to the conference to get to know each other and a small group formed and enjoyed dinner together. Peter was on-hand again in Amsterdam in 2012 to bring a slightly larger group together for a meal before the event took on a life of its own with over 100 people attending the event in 2013 in Gothenburg.

Since then Trinity College (Dublin) and Chateau Neercanne (Maastricht) have hosted this dinner and 2016 will see them host the dinner for the fifth time.

Test Lab Party

On Wednesday night (02 Nov) when the penultimate day of EuroSTAR 2016 draws to a close, the Expo will host the first ever Test Lab Party at EuroSTAR.

This event is for testers who just can’t stop testing. Join the 2016 Test Lab Crew for the first ever Test Lab After Party featuring hands-on testing (naturally!), competitions, games, prizes and the opportunity to unwind with like-minded testers and share your passion for the craft of software testing.

If you love testing and love the Test Lab, you’re going to love the Party.
