XPRIZE helps the global crowd, be they experts or laypeople, old or young, to create the breakthroughs that pull the future forward.

The $10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE is a four-year global competition focused on the development of an Avatar System that will transport a human’s sense, actions, and presence to a remote location in real time, leading to a more connected world.
Designing avatars for impact
XPRIZE sees the potential for avatars to take on many different forms and be used in numerous scenarios. For example:
- Providing Care: Avatars could give the experience of your presence and care to anyone instantly, regardless of distance.
- Disaster Relief: Avatars could transport critical life-saving skills in real-time to remote, disaster-struck areas where it is too dangerous for humans to go.
- Multipurpose Utility: Experts can utilize avatars to provide unique services or rare trade skills for critical maintenance or repairs.
The grand challenge
Our ability to physically experience or utilize our skills in another location is restricted by the barriers of time and distance.
How to win
The winning team will integrate multiple emerging technologies to develop a physical, non- autonomous Avatar System with which an operator can see, hear, and interact within a remote environment in a manner that feels as if they are truly there.
