Bloomberg Internships 2018

Want to start building your career? Bloomberg internships are a good place to start.

Whatever your major or program, whether you’re an undergrad or a postgrad, if you’re interested in fields from finance to news and from technology to clean energy, there’s a place for you there.

Learn more about life as an intern

After initial orientation and training, you’ll start contributing to projects immediately.

Managers will give you constructive feedback and career advice, and through work seminars and cultural and philanthropic events, you’ll gain even more insight into our culture here. You will also hear from leaders from across Bloomberg’s businesses throughout the course of the summer.

And if you do well in your internship, there’s a good chance you’ll get to interview for a full-time position.

Corporate Functions Internships

Global Technical Support (GTEC) provides support for the Bloomberg Professional service (the Terminal) and other Bloomberg products – addressing software, hardware, biometric security and networking challenges. 24/7.

Global Customer Support (GCUS) gives global clients live customer service and general assistance. We train our GTEC and GCUS interns to solve problems for clients, and give them the tools to do it.

Bloomberg also has a small number of internships in other Corporate Functions, like Human Resources, Marketing and Finance.

Financial Products Internships

If the worlds of finance, news and technology excite you, this program is for you.

You’ll get to work with our Sales and Analytics departments, which directly support our Terminal customers.

You’ll be paired you with a mentor, and after training in the financial markets and analytical solutions, you’ll speak directly with customers – from answering their questions to promoting product features.

And, you might even help to pursue new business. You’ll also work with other interns on various Sales and Analytics projects, meet plenty of leaders and attend countless networking events.

Bloomberg Analytics Boot Camp (Pre-Internship)

If you’re an undergrad interested in a career in finance and technology, you can also apply to Analytics Boot Camp.

This program is your chance to spend a week in one of the world’s fastest-paced business environments, learning the basics of the Bloomberg Terminal, networking and participating in group projects.

You’ll emerge with a deeper understanding of topics like fixed income and equity fundamentals, interest rates and derivatives. Do well, and you may get to interview for a summer internship.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) Academic Outreach Internship

The 12-week BNEF program is for undergrads and postgrads who are interested in renewable and clean energy investments.

In this program, your ability to process information and solve problems – independently and in teams – is as important to us as your academic background.

You’ll receive training in the Bloomberg Professional service and gain business exposure along with your fellow Bloomberg interns, and then you’ll join one of clean-energy or carbon-focused teams.

Global Data Internships

This program gives you a first-hand look at our business areas, including the products the company offers, and expands your knowledge of the financial and data markets.

You’ll be given immediate responsibility – helping to source, update and maintain data for designated market areas, including fixed income, equities, commodities, derivatives, pricing, foreign exchange (FX), economics statistics, funds and energy.

Through training, seminars and social and philanthropic events, you’ll gain even more insight into Bloomberg.

News Internships

In the 10- to 12-week program, you’ll help report breaking news about financial markets, economies, technology, business and governments. Interns, who are either students or recent graduates, may also pitch and write enterprise stories, conduct interviews and collaborate with other consumer-facing media platforms.

After completing your internship, you’ll have the chance to become a full-time reporter through our rotational program – where you’ll likely spend several months on three different reporting teams before receiving a permanent assignment.

Bloomberg Intelligence Research Internships

This program gives you the chance to analyze financial, regulatory and industry data and help research analysts turn it into thematic research and actionable ideas.

You’ll also get some immediate responsibilities, including monitoring industry developments; contributing to a constant flow of research ideas; providing quality control for research materials; developing and managing relationships; and designing and maintaining functional dashboards.

Technology Internships

Every day Bloomberg works to be the most customer-focused, fastest-to-market and most agile and adaptable team in a hyper-competitive marketplace.

The unique technologies they build, which power the Bloomberg Professional service, change the way the customers understand the world.

These internships are for students with strong software development skills. You’ll get hands-on training and work with a mentor on a real-world project – anything from pricing algorithms and risk calculations to trading applications and communication platforms.

From client-facing web apps to back-end processing. From machine learning to distributed systems.
