Business Today’s Annual International Conference 2017

Business Today’s 43rd Annual International Conference is all-expenses paid, a 3-day business conference for 150 undergraduate students at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.

Redefining Innovation: Leading the 21st Century Revolution

The conference’s theme is “Redefining Innovation: Leading the 21st Century Revolution”, and this theme will interact through world-class executive keynote speakers, executive seminars, panel discussions, and mentorship for the Case Study competition, Impact Challenge, and Writing Competition.’

Executive Seminar

The seminars will give students and executives the opportunity to interact in a close environment, where they can discuss in-depth the executive’s understanding of the changing landscape of the business world. Students will be able to ask questions and connect with business leaders in a way that is afforded exclusively by Business Today and the International Conference.

The theme of the conference is the “Redefining Innovation: Leading the 21st Century Revolution”, specifically focusing on (1) Inspiration: learn from executives who did it first, (2) Innovation: practice new methods in various fields, and (3) Implementation: sustain/apply beyond the 3 days. Seminars will focus on these three areas, weaving executives’ personal stories, company work, and overall industry experience.

Inspiration

The conference treats innovation as more than simply a buzzword, to mean more than continuous improvement. It looks to foster a dialogue about how to identify unique and hidden opportunities for innovation, to explore creative opportunities that may be counterintuitive yet impactful. It explores these innovative approaches through workshops that address innovation as it relates to specific industries and disciplines.

Innovation

The Case Study challenge, while a rigorous, competitive, and conceptually exhaustive exercise, specifically addresses the management consultant’s approach to innovation and problem-solving opportunities.

The Impact Challenge is a seed-funding competition for students interested in social entrepreneurship. The Conference’s brand new Writing Challenge is an open-ended, individual, and research-based opportunity for students to write about their passions, and gives students the opportunity to have their article published in Business Today’s Magazine, the most widely distributed undergraduate business publication in North America.

Implementation

International Conference brings several world-class innovative executives to deliver keynote addresses and speeches, giving all conference-goers a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask executives important questions and hear expert advice and opinion.

The Conference also features executive seminars, where students are carefully matched with executives to visit their workplaces and gain an incredibly valuable firsthand account of the executives’ work and business. The Conference aims to provide a network, the means, and the experience to implement innovative practices well beyond the 3-day program.

The 2017 Conference will feature:

  • 6 Keynote Addresses
  • 2 Panels and 1 Speaker Series
  • On-Site Executive Seminars
  • Off-Site Executive Seminars
  • A Case-Study Competition
