Innotribe launches its Startup Challenge for Latin America

The Innotribe Startup Challenge will be travelling to Latin America for the first time in search of the best startups to showcase their products during the SWIFT Latin American Regional Conference this June.

Are you a Latin America-based startup that wants to benefit from expert mentoring and in-depth industry feedback? This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

For the first time this year, Innotribe will partner with SWIFT’s Latin American Regional Conference (LARC), taking place in Mexico City from 28-29 June, to spotlight young local fintech startups providing creative alternatives to traditional banking and transforming the way businesses and consumers use financial services in the region.

Innotribe will select 12 startups to enter the Startup Challenge, showcase their products at the event and receive expert coaching and mentoring. The 3 best startups will be nominated by the audience as finalists, automatically securing their ticket to Sibos, SWIFT’s annual global financial services conference, held in Geneva from 26-29 September.

At Sibos, the finalists of the Innotribe Startup Challenge will share the stage with fintech experts and representatives from leading financial institutions worldwide and receive a 10,000 USD cash prize each.

About Innotribe Startup Challenge

Launched in 2009, Innotribe was created to identify emerging trends in financial services innovation and generate discussions about how these trends could impact the industry going forward.

Bringing together innovators, bank representatives, investors and leading financial institutions, Innotribe has adopted a proactive approach to innovation and FinTech. It provides a platform to understand the dynamics behind technology changes and focuses on the opportunities for transformation rather than the threats to current market practices.

In 2016, Innotribe will continue its renowned Startup Challenge and launch a new initiative the “Industry Challenge”, challenging the SWIFT community to actively collaborate and develop utility-based solutions for the benefit of the global financial services industry. Looking at stimulating debate and discussion within the financial services community, Innotribe will also continue to investigate a range of FinTech-related topics, connecting innovative, established and proven FinTech enterprises with academics and industry professionals through the publication of research papers and events.

The successful applicants will be announced in May 2016.
