Meat Design Ostrava Student Competition 2020
Meat Design Ostrava festival is announcing a competition for the best student work. This year will be focused on proposals in the field of utility design.
The jury will be led by one of the top Czech designers and will include representatives of partner companies, personalities from the ranks of Visegrad partners and a member of the Meat Design Ostrava team.
A festival bustling with inspiration
Meat Design Ostrava is a festival bustling with inspiration, ideas, applied art, architecture and, above all, original product and interior design.
Three days of exclusive design, inspiration, talent and meetings with designers in the industrial heart of Ostrava – the premises of the former Hlubina mine and GONG auditorium in DolnĂ oblast VĂtkovice.
The competition
This year’s novelty is the division of categories into Secondary and Higher Education.
The competition will be made up of two rounds. Of all the submitted works in each category, six will be selected, which will be presented within Meat Design Ostrava 2020. The expert jury will then decide on the winners.

- Furniture design
- Glass design
- Industrial Design
- Ceramic design
- Jewelry design
Prizes
The winner announcement ceremony will take place within the program of the Meat Design Ostrava 2020 festival, on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
The winner will be awarded:
- Possibility to present the winning work within the Meat Design 2020 program
- Secondary Education Category: Financial reward of €200
- Higher Education Category: Financial reward of €400
