MEC Data Challenge 2017

Want to take part in one of the most amazing Data Challenges of those last years? You can even be rewarded for your involvement!

From a dataset, available on Kaggle in class, you will have to identify users with different IP addresses and devices, profile the user’s behaviour in general and make a timing profile 24/7 of the users. This means that you will need to determine at which moment of the day and of the week, the users adopt a specific behaviour.

Evaluation based on the ability for the students’ algorithms to:

  • Identify the end-user behind multi-devices used
  • Clustering users through categories (ages, occupation, etc)
  • Temporal behavior profiling 24/7

The evaluation principles will be validated by professors and professional data scientists.

The participating students work in team (2-3 students) and have to develop algorithm for processing the significant cumulative big data from media sector.

Three Rewards for the three best teams!

To reward the best projects, a cash prize of 5000 Euros will be offered by MEC and is divided into three rewards. To evaluate the submitted algorithm, data scientists from Dataa team will use scientific methods.

The evaluation principles will be validated with the Steering Committee composed of teacher and professional data scientists.
