This is a series of conferences organised by University of Naples Federico II each year to get students acquainted with the topical issues in the world of criminal law and criminal proceedings.
The topic of this year’s conference is:
The reform of the criminal proceeding: is it a real restyling?
The idea of the conference is to discuss how young attorneys can make a contribution to building the future criminal law and criminal proceedings.
That is why it is crucial to deepen some aspects of the actual criminal system with experts from all over Italy.
The conference will start by offering a general view of the actual Italian criminal proceeding and then it will focus on the news of the reform adopted on the 14 of June.
Each speech will look into a specific aspect of the reform in order to encourage a debate between experts and students on the pros and cons of the new law.
Some of the most important Italian experts in criminal law and criminal proceedings will join the conference: not only University professors but also practitioners of the field such as lawyers and judges.
The choice of the speakers has the intention to mix both theoretical and practical contributions to the daily dialogue.
It is an important and easy way to be up to date with what is going on in criminal law world.
Other conferences will take place at the Federico II during the year in order to point out the news and to encourage the discussion about the topical changes in criminal law also due to the increasing influence of European law.
All the conferences will debate on how Italy can make a contribution to the achievement of a European criminal law and proceeding that nowadays is still a utopia.
