For many companies, TikTok is a platform they haven’t yet considered. TikTok has become one of the most popular sources for short-form video entertainment and social media engagement.

Other platforms such as YouTube and Instagram also offer great short-form video options, such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, but TikTok is currently dominating.

When most people think about TikTok and how it fits into their recruitment strategy, they most likely picture it as a platform to attract younger audiences or to promote their products.

However, TikTok can be used for other purposes, including recruiting new talent through showcasing company culture on the platform. TikTok’s growing popularity globally makes it even more useful today when you are looking to hire new team members.

This blog post will cover some tips to help you understand how to use TikTok for Recruitment, more specifically, employee recruitment.

Using TikTok to showcase company culture

One of the best ways to showcase company culture on TikTok is to highlight what your team members love doing. TikTok is a great platform for showing the everyday life of your team and their passions. TikTok can be used to show what it’s like working at your company, and you can even include short-form videos from team members about why they love working at your company.

The most important thing, though, is to set guidelines for how employees should use TikTok and other social media platforms. For example, you might specify that TikTok videos for your brand account should only be recorded in a neutral setting where there is no risk of confidential information displayed in the background.

You can also make a list of approved topics for your team to follow.

For example, there may be certain employment benefits that you do not share before the interview stage, so you need to ensure that your team knows not to share these details on your brand account.

Most of the brands that we consult with, attach an approved topics card to their social media company policy for both brand and personal use (if they have one.) If you do not have one, we can help you create one.

Here are some topic examples that you can use to help you showcase company culture.

Using TikTok to attract the right talent

As we’ve mentioned, TikTok can be a great platform to attract the right talent for your company. It’s important to remember that when recruiting through TikTok, you’re not just looking for people who are interested in the product or service that your company offers.

You’re also looking for people who align with your company culture. This is why it’s so essential to showcase your company culture on TikTok.

When potential candidates watch your videos, they should be able to see that they would fit in well at your company and that they would enjoy the work they would be doing.

Another thing to keep in mind when recruiting through TikTok is that you should be genuine with your content and work with your social team to develop content that aligns with who your ideal team member is.

“This is no longer just about attracting a sales lead, you also want to attract talent leads.”

By being transparent and showcasing your company culture, you’ll be one step ahead. You also want to ensure that your TikTok profile is accessible and optimized to attract talent.

Ensure that the link in your TikTok account also includes information on current openings or how a candidate can sign up on your database for future openings. Many brands create their own landing pages where they can showcase various products and services that they offer, including information on openings.

We live in a world where we need to think beyond the norm regarding social media, which also includes attracting the right talent. With these tips, we hope that you’ll consider using TikTok or short-form videos to attract the right talent.
