Connected Fashion Challenge 2019

The Challenge invites participants from all backgrounds, cultures and communities to come together, ideate, exchange with peers, and ultimately co-create an edgy new collection that fosters meaningful connections and places the partner at the vanguard of a new kind of fashion
Location: Berlin, Germany

The Connected Fashion Challenge is an intense, four-week program which will bring 20 talented innovators with diverse backgrounds to co-create a fashion collection that integrates technology to connect and empower communities.

Over the four-week program, you will be guided through an innovation process, from ideation to implementation, with the goal of producing a concrete result: a collection that integrates wearable technologies into fashion and thereby empowers and connects communities in exciting new ways.

Participants will receive a full scholarship covering tuition, travel cost to and from Berlin, as well as local accommodation for the program duration. Limited needs-based stipends are available.


Space Station Design Workshop 2019

Location: Stuttgart, Germany

With the end of operation of the International Space Station ISS coming up within the next twelve years, it is time to think about a successor space station to preserve long-duration human presence in space.

But which requirements are there? Which orbit should be chosen? What size should the station be and how many astronauts should it accommodate? Which purpose makes the most sense? If you want to help answer these questions and take part in the Space Station Design Workshop, we encourage you to apply!

The workshop itself is free of charge and accommodation will be provided. Partial travel refund is provided (maximum of 500€).

Master Class on EU Cohesion Policy 2019

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union Cohesion Policy, and demonstrate the importance of the local and regional levels for good European governance.

The event has become a European networking platform for experts in regional and local development.

There is no fee to attend the Master Class; the organisers will cover and arrange travel and accommodation of all selected participants;


Trust Conference Changemakers Programme 2019

All applicants working in the areas of modern slavery, women’s rights, economic empowerment, refugee support and other human rights areas
Location: Stuttgart, Germany

The Trust Conference Changemakers Programme funds frontline activists and human rights defenders from around the world to attend the annual conference.

This year, up to 60 scholarships to applicants from diverse disciplines who will bring their unique perspectives and take action at Trust Conference will be awarded. The Trust Conference Changemakers Programme offers access to an influential gathering of NGOs, heads of corporations, lawyers, public servants and philanthropists.

Selected applicants will receive: A free day of specialised training and networking with other Changemakers on November 12, 2019, free attendance at the Trust Conference on November 13 and 14, 2019, a potential financial bursary to support travel and accommodation costs (up to £1,250).


Talent Meets Bertelsmann 2019

Eligibility: Bachelor, Master, PhD or MBA students, ideally in the field of business, economics, humanities, media management or informatics, with a keen interest in data science
Dates: June 24-26, 2019
Location: Berlin, Germany

Tackle the challenges and opportunities both digitalization and Big Data bring. Join Talent Meets Bertelsmann and build a powerful network at the very start of your career.

You and 50 other students from all over the world will meet experienced Bertelsmann entrepreneurs in Berlin. In small groups, you will work on key business ideas and present your results in front of a jury of Bertelsmann executives.

The costs of each participant’s hotel room for two nights (June 24 to June 26, 2019), as well as travel expenses up to 300 EUR for students coming from European schools and up to 500 EUR for students from non-European schools will be covered.


Future Leaders Connect 2019

Eligibility: You must be aged 18-35 and live in one of our participating countries – Canada, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Tunisia, UK and USA. Applications from Egypt and the USA are by invitation only.
Location: the United Kingdom

As a member of Future Leaders Connect, you will travel to the UK for ten days of advanced policy and leadership development programme at leading institutions.

You will discuss today’s biggest global challenges in the UK Houses of Parliament, meet inspirational leaders and the Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge.

Following your time in the UK, you will have worldwide connections, a policy action plan for change and the skills, knowledge and networks needed to be an influential leader in your country and beyond.

The costs of travel, accommodation and meals are covered by the British Council and the programme is fully accessible.


Ocean Science Journalism Fellowship 2019

Dates: October 14-18, 2019
Eligibility: The ideal candidates will have at least two years of writing, producing, or editing experience for a general-interest audience. Freelancers, book authors, and writers from nontraditional media may also be considered, but should be able to show a substantial portfolio of work. International journalists are welcome to apply.
Location: The United States

The WHOI Ocean Science Journalism Fellowship is a one-week, residential experience open to professional science writers, producers, and editors working for print, broadcast, radio, and Internet media.

Created in 2000, the program is designed to introduce science journalists to the interdisciplinary and wide-ranging fields of oceanography and ocean engineering.

WHOI covers travel expenses for all fellows and room and board for one week.


Antler Startup Generator London 2019

Location: London, the United Kingdom

Antler provides funding from day one and supports founders in building fast-growing businesses they will own and run. The generator selects the most passionate, aspiring entrepreneurs, help them find the right co-founders and connect them to the Global Advisor Network.

For the first two months, you will be given an individual grant. Moreover, Antler provides hands-on coaching, access to experienced venture partners, Global Advisor Network and more.


OpenFOAM Conference 2019
