Europe’s economy has suffered significant changes in the past seven years. The crisis left behind huge unemployment rates, shaky economies, and countless challenges for this continent. To tackle part of the problem and re-launch economic development, Europe must encourage entrepreneurship at individual level.

In the most beautiful village of Austria, nestled by the Alps, every summer Alpbach hosts series of classes, conferences, debates, and networking events for outstanding European students, professors, politicians, successful business people, lawyers, and people alike. They gather for three weeks to discuss the future of Europe, share ideas, build great network and make lasting friendships.

Alpbach Summer School on Entrepreneurship will be organized by The International Entrepreneurship Centre Tirol Hermann Hauser (IECT), by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and the European Forum Alpbach. This summer school aims at discovering and promoting innovative ideas of European Ph.D or Post-Doc students and researchers who are focused on technology, science, mathematics or engineering and who want to bring their scientific ideas to the market.

The lectures and workshops during the summer school will focus on developing winning entrepreneurial projects around the innovative ideas of the participants. Tailored feedback, support, and guidance will be provided during the workshops and sessions by entrepreneurs, experienced trainers, professionals, and innovators from the Cambridge Network. The last day of the summer school will be reserved for presentations and pitching ideas in front of the jury.

Twenty outstanding participants will be invited to attend the school that will take place from the 19th to 24th of August. The total participation cost, which includes tuition fees and accommodation, is EUR 3 000, and scholarships of EUR 1 300 per person will be granted by the International Entrepreneurship Centre Tirol (IECT) Hermann Hauser.

Applications will be open until March 31st 2015 and can be submitted at the following email address: summerschools@alpbach.org
